PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONFasto FLEX FAST is a low viscosity modified Ethyl Cyanoacrylate adhesive. Fasto FLEX FAST is suitable for bonding a very wide range of materials, including some porous ones, where very fast cure speed is required.TYPICAL APPLICATIONSFasto FLEX FAST is formulated for the bonding of plastics, rubbers, wood, metals and other common substrates. Recommended for use on close-fitting parts, smooth and even surfaces.PROPERTIES OF UNCURED MATERIALValueChemical type EthylAppearance ClearSpecific Gravity 1.03Viscosity cPs1range 28 -32typical value 30Tensile Strength2 (N/mm2) 14Fixture Time (secs) 2-5Full Cure (hours) 24Operating Temperature Range (°C) -50 to +801 ISO 3104/31052 ISO 6922TYPICAL CURING PERFORMANCETypical Speed:Steel/steel <15 secondsABS/ABS <10 secondsRubber/Rubber <2 secondsCure speed vs. environmental conditionsCyanoacrylate adhesives require surface moisture on the substrates in order to initiate the curing mechanism. The speed of cure is reduced in low humidity conditions. Low temperatures will also reduce cure speed. All figures relating to cure speed are tested at 21°CCure speed vs. bond gapFasto FLEX FAST give best results on close fitting parts. The product should be applied in a very thin line in order to ensure rapid polymerisation and a strong bond. Excessive bond gaps will result in slower cure speeds. Fasto Cyanoacrylate Activators may be used to greatly increase cure speeds Cure speed vs. SubstrateThe speed of cure of Fasto FLEX FAST varies according to the substrates to be bonded. Acidic surfaces such as paper and leather will have longer cure times than most plastics and rubbers.DIRECTIONS FOR USEBonding speed is very fast so ensure that parts are properly aligned before bonding. Ensure parts are clean, dry and free from oil and grease. Product is normally hand applied from the bottle. Apply sparingly to one surface and press parts firmly together until handling strength is achieved. As a general rule, as little Cyanoacrylate as possible should be used – over application will result in slow cure speed and lower bond strength. Please contact your Fasto representative for further advice on dispensing solutions.GENERAL INFORMATIONFor safe handling of this product consult the Material Safety Data Sheet.StorageStore in a cool area and out of direct sunlight. Refrigeration to 5° C gives optimum storage stability.PackagingBottles: 20gAvailable in bulk for use with dispensing systems.DATA RANGESThe data contained in this data sheet may be reported as typical value and/or range. Ambient cure high viscous adhesive systemDescription Lapox Ultra is two component modified, viscous epoxy adhesive system. When both componentsare mixed in recommended ratios and cured appropriately at room temperature, an excellent bondstrength can be achieved with most of the substrates including glass, metals, laminates, wood, textile and natural stones. Faster productivity can be achieved, if curing is performed at highertemperature between 40°C and 60°C. Curing at higher temperature is recommended to achieveoptimum bond strength.ApplicationsArtificial jewellery and jewel stone fixingAutomobile componentsCeramic worksConstructionElectrical componentsGeneral engineering componentsSouvenirs and handicraftsSports goodsAdvantagesAdequate pot lifeExcellent electrical insulation propertiesHigh bond strengthHigh mechanical strength even in dynamic conditionsThermally stable and suitable to perform in extreme conditionsWater and chemical resistantTypical specifications Test Unit Reference ValueResin HardenerDescription - Visual Off-white, opaque, viscous liquidClear, yellowish tobrownish, viscous liquidViscosity at 25°C1 m Pas ASTM D2196 28,000 - 42,000 28,000 - 40,000Colour GS ASTM D1544 - Max 8Density g/cc ASTM D792 1.06 - 1.17 0.92 - 0.981Viscosity by Brookfield viscometerMix specifications Test Unit Reference ValueMixing ratio (resin : hardener) w/w - 100 : 80Mix viscosity at 25°C m Pas ASTM D2196 30,000 - 35,000Pot life1 Minutes ASTM D2471 75 - 90Peak exotherm temperature2 °C ASTM D2471 Max 60Surface dry* Minutes ASTM D5895 120 - 140Touch dry* Minutes ASTM D5895 300 - 320Hard dry* Minutes ASTM D5895 520 - 5401Pot life of 100 g mix mass at 25 ± 1°C in plastic disposable cup by ‘Gardco’ gel timer2Total 100 g mix mass in plastic disposable cup at 25°C*Drying time of 200 micron film on glass plate at 25°CAfter cure specifications1Lap shear strength on prepared aluminum strips after 24 hours curingTest Unit Reference ValueLap shear strength at 27°C kg/cm2 ASTM D1002 Min 120
ProcessingSurface reparation: The adherents must be thoroughly degreased with a good degreasing solvent(e.g. toluene, acetone trichloroethylene) and abraded with coarse emery paper or chemicallyetched. Inadequately pre-treated substrates may not bond satisfactorily.Application: The mixed mass is applied by brush or spatula on the surface to be adhered. The mixmust be used within its pot life.Curing: Curing normally takes place at room temperature within about 24 hours depending on theambient temperature but may be accelerated by the application of heat.PackagingLapox Ultra is available in 6.5 g, 13 g, 36 g, 90 g and 180 g tube packs as well as 450 g, 900 g and1.8 kg bottles and 9 kg, 45 kg and 90 kg HDPE carboys.Storage and handlingLapox Ultra should be stored in a cool and dry place, preferably in a sealed container and shouldnot be exposed to direct sunlight.
