Fevicol X-Pres is moisture – curing single component polyurethane adhesive, specially designed for wood to wood bonding applications and other wood to non wood applications used to make varities of furniture. Fevicol X-Pres is D4 categories of adhesive having, an excellent boiling water resistance as well as normal water resistance. It also provides high heat resistance. It is reinforced low foaming adhesive having excellent adhesion on numerous substrates. PROPERTIES OF THE ADHESIVE ??? Appearance : Pale yellow Liquid ??? Viscosity @ 30 deg. C : 50 - 90 poise Open time : 8 to 9 minutes @ 30 deg. C. Handling time (Declamping time for wood to wood joint) : within 15 to 20 minutes especially in Teak and other soft wood.. Improve the productivity as fast setting time of the glue , allows in doing subsequent job of sending, cutting etc. The glue lie is easily sandable and dark black Glue line is not visible post staining. 100% active ingredient. Does not contain water or solvent, hence recommend to use in single side. Higher strength and high coverage: Being a non water and non solvent based glue, it provides optimum strength in single side application and providing higher coverage which is almost 2.5 times higher than other two parts - Epoxy adhesive which is required to apply on double side in same wood to wood joint application. Wastage minimized: can be applied by nozzle at the required spot. Application Technique for Wood to Wood Joint:- Applicator: - Plastic squeeze bottle. Spatula, Hand Roller Application Process:- Surface to be bonded should be dry, clean, and free from oil or grease. Open the bottle lid by turning the yellow top anti-clockwise. Apply glue on one edge surface of the one wood substrate / panel /plank / joint in a thin layer by pressing the bottle downwards. Spread the glue uniformly on the edge with the help of spreader. Close the bottle lid after application by turning the top clockwise. Damped the edge surface of opposite / second wooden substrate / panel /plank / joint by spraying water or wiping with wet cloth. Bring the other edge of wood substrate close to it to assemble & clamp them firmly. Leave the assembly to set. For 15 minutes (in case of all teak woods and other soft woods) then de-clamp the substrates after 15 minutes and keep the assembly aside in free condition for another 35 to 45 minutes. A very strong bond will be obtained after above steps while allow to do subsequent job like sanding, cutting etc. Clamping:- For sufficient contact of adhesive to the substrate under curing condition, adequate pressure through mechanized clamp is necessary. The required pressure and pressing time is dependent up on the type of wood (Hard wood, Soft wood), Porosity of the substrate

Instructions 1) The surface of the substrate coating parts should be clean and without watermarks, dust or oil, which ensures good adhesion. Please consult the technical personnel of our company when encountering special bonding surface and materials. 2) Open the front end of the aluminum tube packing and put on the plastic nozzle for sealant. The size of nozzle is to be cut according to the width of construction joint. Then PU Sealant on the cleaned surface and finish the in the surface curing time. 3) The best temperature of assembly is 20 ~ 30 min and the best humidity is 50 ~ 70% RH. Low temperature and humidity will make the speed of the curing becomes slow. On the contrary, high temperature and humidity will cause the bubbles that appear on the surface of curing adhesive. 4) When the polyurethane adhesive is in the process of sizing and curing, you have to avoid it contacting with the hydroxyl, amino and other chemicals, which can make polyurethane not cure or cure incompletely. 5) The opened paste should be used as soon as possible. You should storage it with sealing the nozzle if it is not used up in a short time. The surface on the nozzle maybe cured when you use it again, which is not impact the normal use. What you need to do is just remove the crust and use the PU again. Nozzle place may also have a small amount of crust in the process of storage, which does not affect the performance as well. Caution & Care: ??? Must keep away from the children and store in cool & dry place. ??? Protective glasses & Gloves should be worn in using process to protect your eyes and skin. ??? Ensure that all surfaces are clean , dry, &free from all loose dirt, dust, oil, grease orany other contaminants, which may impairadhesion. Metal surfaces should becleaned & degreased. For a neat finish,apply masking tape & remove it beforesealant has skinned over.
Cut tip off cartridge/ sausage with a sharpknife. Cut nozzle at 45 angle to desirebeadwidth & apply to substrate withcartridge gun. The adhesion of the sealant can be improved by wiping the joint faces with Sika® Aktivator-205 or possibly applying the appropriate Sika® Primer. Directions for the preparation and treatment of different substrates are given in the appropriate Sika Pre-treatment Chart. Advice on specific applications is available from the Technical Department of Sika Industry. Application Cut off the tip of the nozzle to give desired sealant bead geometry.
