LOCTITE® 567™ is designed for the locking and sealing of metal tapered threads and fittings. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration. The high lubricating properties of this compound prevent galling on stainless steel, aluminum and all other metal pipe threads and fittings. The product offers high temperature performance and oil tolerance. It tolerates minor surface contaminations from various oils, such as cutting, lubrication, anti-corrosion and protection fluids. LOCTITE® 567™ is recommended for industrial applications in the chemical processing, petroleum refining, pulp/paper, waste treatment, textile, utilities/power generation, marine, automotive, industrial equipment, gas compression and distribution industries. It is also recommended for industrial plant fluid power systems. UL Classification Classified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc.® MH8007 - Fire hazard is small. No flash point in liquid state. Ignition temperature 455°C. For use in devices handling gasoline, petroleum oils, natural gas (pressure not over 300 PSIG), butane and propane not exceeding 2 in. pipe size. Apply a thin film or bead to one orboth surfaces. Once applied, sufficient time should be allowed for the solvent to evaporate. Unlimitedassembly time allows precise alignment of joints to be made. Due to the nature of the compound,fasteners may be required to be re-tightened to the correct torque.Hylomar Universal Blue can be removed from dismantling components by rubbing with a cloth soakedwith Easy Clean Solvent, Hylomar Gasket Remover or Hylomar Rally and Grand Prix Wipes. Noscraping is necessary.
Typical ApplicationsHylomar Universal Blue enables the effective sealing of metal to metal and plastic to plasticcomponents. Typical applications include water and oil pumps, instrument inspection covers,cylinder heads and sumps, and it can also be used for the coating for pre-formed gaskets, weatherproofing, motors and outdoor high voltage circuit breakers. Inlet manifolds, timing case covers, oilpump joints, gear box and transmission components or thread sealing it has also been successfullybeen used in the assembly of gas turbines, water cool generators and turbo vacuum systems.There is no staining of copper and silver, etc., from traces of volatiles at elevated temperature, andis therefore suitable for joints, and threads in close proximity to switch mechanisms, etc.Light grade: inlet manifolds, timing case covers, oil pump joints, gearbox and transmissioncomponents, thread sealing and any finely machined surface.Medium grade: water and oil pumps, instrument inspection covers, cylinder heads, sumps andmost machined surfaces.Heavy grade: gas turbines, water cooled generators, turbo vacuum systems, gearboxes and mostrough machined surfaces.Handling and Safety PropertiesThe compound is non-flammableProduct contains DichloromethaneLabelling = Harmful.
