Air-curing dry-film lubricant Features • Excellent lubricity • Excellent corrosion protection • Air-curing • High pressure and wear resistance Composition • Solid lubricants • Organic binder • Organic solvent Applications Excellent combination of lubrication and corrosion protection. How to use Surface preparation Carefully clean and degrease surfaces to be coated with MOLYKOTE® 3402-C LF Anti-Friction Coating. Recommended pretreatments: blasting or phosphating. Both pretreatments increase the adhesion and service life of MOLYKOTE® 3402-C LF Anti-Friction Coating. How to apply Stir MOLYKOTE® 3402-C LF Anti-Friction Coating thoroughly before and during use, apply by spraying, dipping, centrifuging or brushing. Surfaces should be coated as evenly as possible. Recommended dry-film thickness: 5 to 20 µm. Coverage When applied at 10 µm dry-film thickness, MOLYKOTE® 3402-C LF Anti-Friction Coating has a coverage of approximately 12 m2/kg (this value does not take into account the losses generated during the application process). Thinner Recommended thinner is MOLYKOTE® L13 ThinnerTypical properties Specification writers: These values are not intended for use in preparing specifications. Solid lubricating paste with particularly low friction coefficient for assembly and running-in of metallic components.Features & benefits • Low friction coefficient • High pressure-absorption capacity • Prevents seizure and scoring • Suppresses stick-slip • Reduces formation of fretting corrosion • Facilitates disassembly • Good coverage • Provides emergency running performance • No intentional polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)Composition • Mineral oil • Solid lubricants Applications Suitable for the press-fit production of all types of machine elements, as a running-in lubricant for new machines and gears, as permanent lubrication of machine elements that are submitted to slight or intermittent movement only, as well as for drilling, sawing and thread-cutting. Used to lubricate threaded spindles, splined shafts, tooth gearing, worm gearing, moving screws, fittings, pumps, guides on machine tools, as well as for fitting ball and roller bearings, pulleys, wheel flanges and bolts. How to use Clean the sliding surfaces or contact areas, then apply paste with a brush, cloth, synthetic sponge or window leather. Do not use in excess as with grease lubrication. Vigorous rubbing into metal surface will improve adhesion. Do not mix with greases or oils.To enable this product to be applied more quickly and cleanly to larger areas, it is advisable to use the spray can. If using the spray, MOLYKOTE® G-Rapid Plus Paste Spray should be applied in a sweeping motion to obtain a thin, uniform coating. Avoid over application.Typical properties Specification writers: These values are not intended for use in preparing specifications.
